Duma Key, Best of Mr. Stephen King Yet..

I have a blogger friend who frequently comments on my Stephen King Books blog who said that I should read "Duma Key", because it is one of the best Stephen King novel to date!

I haven't find myself reading the book yet, but as I search the internet, it really is good according to many SK fans out there! (Darn searching, some are spoilers! hehehe)..

Here's the latest (spoiler) review that I read from the DM Online...

The story's hero, Edgar Freemantle, was a self-made worker in the construction industry.

He had a wife, two kids and several million dollars in his pocket, then there was an accident. The right side of his skull was crushed, his hip was shattered and he lost his right arm. Talk about a reversal of fortune.

Edgar's brain injury makes it difficult for him to say what he means to say, which leads to several unintentionally hilarious referrals to chairs as "buddys."

The living dead sail in on a ghost ship, and creepy young sisters run around causing mischief. A man-sized frog with teeth rears its head and a china doll may want to have a few words with you, but at its core, "Duma Key" is the story of a man who chooses to stand against something much greater, and much more terrible, than himself.

Alright, that's enough... We want you to actually buy and read the book alright. :)..

I say, personally for someone who haven't read the book yet.. I think it is good! Must save some buck to buy a copy. :)

The Mist on Dead By Dawn 2008 Movie Festival

I just heard from Den of Geek, that the Mist is one of the movie who participated in the 'Dead by Dawn Movie Festival 2008".

Here's what Matt Edwards has to say:

Frank Darabont's recent Stephen King adaptation. Very different than his previous two King interpretations, this was another highlight of the festival. I'm all for any film where the message is 'Even if they're right and we're wrong, it's still better to not be a religious fundamentalist nutcase'. The film is let down in places by poor CG creatures, which is a shame. I also felt disappointed by the ending, which received a great deal of praise from everyone else I spoke to. I didn't need an all smiles happy ending, but what they went with felt more like a cheap trick, was tonally wrong and didn't add anything to the story. Otherwise, a great film.

Mrs Matt: "It had portals like Primeval. I did like it though."

Saturday night saw the Dead by Dawn all-nighter, starting at midnight and not finishing until 11am the following morning.

He gave it a 4 out of 5 stars (hurrah!) even though he didn't quite fancy the ending. I haven't really saw the movie yet (shame on me) but now I am eager to.
